Frequently asked questions
How booking, verification, payments, cancellations, and vehicle handover work on SnS Errand Runners. If your question is not answered here, get in touch.
Booking a vehicle
Full detail in Terms §5
- How does SnS Errand Runners work?
SnS Errand Runners is a digital marketplace for vehicle rental in Ghana. Independent vendors — vehicle owners and rental companies — list their fleets, and you search, compare, book, and pay in one place.
Each confirmed booking creates a rental agreement directly between you and the vendor. SnS reviews vendors before onboarding them and provides the booking, payment, verification, and dispute-support layer around that agreement.
- Can I drive the vehicle myself, or does it come with a driver?
Both. Every listing shows whether it is available for self-drive, with a professional chauffeur, or either. You choose the service mode when you book.
Self-drive requires full identity verification before handover. Chauffeur-driven bookings require a government-issued ID but not the full self-drive KYC check.
- When is my booking actually confirmed?
A booking request does not by itself reserve the vehicle. Your booking is confirmed only when payment or the required deposit has been received, the vendor has confirmed availability, and SnS has issued a booking confirmation and reference.
You will receive that reference through the platform and by email, SMS, or WhatsApp. Keep it — you need it to manage the booking later.
- Can SnS or the vendor cancel my booking?
Yes, in limited circumstances: the vehicle becomes unavailable, the vendor rejects the request, payment fails, identity verification fails, or there are fraud or security concerns.
If that happens, amounts you have paid for the affected booking are refunded under the cancellation and refund policy below, and we will try to help you rebook.
- How do I view or manage a booking I already made?
Use the Manage Booking page and enter your booking reference. You can review your booking details and print a receipt there. If you have lost your reference, that page can help you recover it.
Eligibility and verification
Full detail in Terms §3
- What do I need to book a self-drive rental?
You must hold a valid, original driver's licence for the vehicle class. Ghanaian law requires you to carry the original licence while driving — a photocopy is not acceptable at the wheel.
You also need a valid national identity document (Ghana Card, passport, or other government-issued photo ID), and you must complete identity verification (KYC) and be approved before handover.
- Is there a minimum age?
You must meet the minimum age shown on the vehicle listing. That is 21 years unless a specific vehicle states a higher minimum.
- I have a foreign driver's licence. Can I still rent?
Yes. Where you hold a foreign licence, provide an International Driving Permit (IDP) where applicable, alongside your original licence.
- Why do you need my documents?
Verification protects both sides of the marketplace: vendors are handing over a valuable asset, and customers are trusting a vehicle they did not inspect beforehand. Verification is mandatory for self-drive bookings.
How we store and handle those documents is described in our Privacy Policy.
Payments, deposits, and fees
Full detail in Terms §6
- What currency do you charge in, and how do I pay?
All prices are displayed in Ghana Cedis (GH₵). Online payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Some vendors also accept offline payment methods arranged through the platform.
- What exactly am I paying for?
Your booking total may include the vendor's rental fee, a refundable security deposit where the listing states one, applicable taxes and levies, and a platform service fee where displayed at checkout.
Refundable and non-refundable components are identified before you pay — you will not be charged anything that was not shown to you at checkout.
- When do I get my security deposit back?
Security deposits are refunded after satisfactory return of the vehicle, less any deductions properly chargeable under the Terms — for example a fuel shortfall, a damage excess, traffic fines, or late-return charges.
Refunds are initiated within a reasonable period after return and may then be subject to your bank's or the payment provider's processing times.
- My payment failed. What happens to the booking?
A failed payment voids the related booking step, and the vehicle is not held. You can retry the payment or start the booking again.
- I think I was charged incorrectly. What should I do?
Raise it with us through our dispute process first — contact support and we will investigate.
Please do not go straight to a chargeback: initiating a chargeback for amounts properly charged under the Terms is treated as chargeback abuse and may lead to account suspension.
Cancellations and refunds
Full detail in Terms §7
- What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are shown on the listing and again at checkout, because they can vary by vehicle. Unless a different policy is stated for the specific vehicle, the standard policy applies: free cancellation up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup time.
Cancellations within 24 hours of pickup may incur a fee or forfeit part of the payment, as stated at checkout.
- What if I simply do not turn up?
A no-show — failing to collect the vehicle without cancelling — may forfeit the amounts paid for the first day or for the booking, as stated at checkout. If your plans change, always cancel rather than not showing up.
- What if the vendor cancels on me?
If a vendor cancels a confirmed booking, you receive a full refund of the amounts paid for that booking, and we will try to help you rebook.
- Are platform service fees refunded?
Platform service fees are non-refundable where this is indicated at checkout. Whether a fee is refundable is always shown to you before you pay.
- How are refunds paid out?
Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Once we initiate a refund, the time it takes to appear depends on your bank or payment provider.
Pickup, return, and during your rental
Full detail in Terms §8, §9, §11, §12
- What happens at pickup?
You and the vendor inspect the vehicle together. The inspection should record photos or video from multiple angles, the fuel level, the mileage reading, any existing damage, the accessories and tools present including the spare tyre, and the vehicle's registration and insurance papers.
Take this seriously — those records are the evidence used to resolve any dispute later. Do the same inspection at return.
- What condition do I need to return the vehicle in?
Return it at the agreed time and place, in the same condition as received apart from fair wear and tear, with the fuel level required by the listing's fuel policy.
Late returns may incur the late-return charge shown on the listing, or where none is shown, a pro-rated daily charge.
- What if there is an accident, theft, or a breakdown?
Report it immediately to the vendor and to SnS, and follow the incident steps in the Terms — including notifying the police where required. You can raise a dispute or accident report from your booking page.
Insurance cover, excesses, and what you are responsible for are set out in the Terms and on the listing.
- Who pays traffic fines and tolls?
Fines, tolls, and traffic offences incurred during your rental period are your responsibility, as set out in the Terms.
- How do chauffeur-driven trips work?
The vendor is responsible for the driver's licensing, competence, and conduct. Standard driving hours, overtime charges, and waiting-time fees are stated on the listing or agreed before the trip.
For out-of-town or overnight trips, reasonable driver accommodation and meals are the customer's responsibility unless the listing says otherwise. Drivers may refuse routes or instructions that are unsafe or unlawful.
Listing your vehicles
Full detail in Vendor Terms
- I own vehicles. How do I list them?
Start from the Become a vendor page. You will create a vendor account, complete onboarding and verification, and add your vehicles with photos, pricing, and availability.
Listings go live once your account and the vehicle's documents have been reviewed.
- What does it cost, and how do I get paid?
Commercial terms, platform fees, and payout arrangements are covered in the Vendor Terms and confirmed during onboarding.
- Who is responsible for the vehicle and the rental itself?
The vendor is. Each confirmed booking is a rental agreement between the customer and the vendor. SnS facilitates discovery, booking, payment, verification, and dispute support.
Support and disputes
Full detail in Terms §13
- How do I reach a human?
Email support@snserrandrunners.com, call or WhatsApp +233 599 005 234, or use the Contact page for the full list of channels and what each one is for.
- How are disputes resolved?
Raise the dispute through the platform first, from the booking it relates to. We review the evidence from both sides — inspection photos, mileage and fuel records, messages, and payment records — and work with you and the vendor toward a resolution.
The full dispute process is set out in the Terms.
- How do I report a safety concern or a bad experience?
Contact support directly, and tell us the booking reference. Safety concerns about a vehicle, a driver, or a customer are treated as a priority and can result in a vendor or customer being suspended from the platform.
